Are Discontinued Vinyl Flooring Tiles Right For You?
When it comes to flooring options, you really need to consider the pros and cons of the various choices available
to you. However, you don't always have a lot of choices once you consider how much you have to spend. If you are
really on a tight budget and need to put in some new flooring, one of the most affordable options available is
probably discontinued vinyl flooring tiles.
In general, vinyl flooring tiles are one of the least expensive flooring options. To get something even less
expensive, you can look for stores that sell discontinue vinyl flooring tiles, since these would be offered at a
discount. You won't have as much selection, and you need to be sure that they have enough of the style or styles
that you choose in order for you to be able to cover the area of floor that you would like to cover. If you happen
to have a large area to cover and can't find enough of the style you like, you might want to combine this style
with another style and create a design on your floor. You can get very creative with these tiles. You could create
a checkerboard effect, or create a border with a different design of tile. The options are endless.
Another positive thing about discontinued vinyl flooring tiles is that they are very easy to install and care for.
You can install these yourself, especially since many styles come in a peel and stick format. They can be installed
anywhere, though you need to take care when installing them in full bathrooms because the adhesive is water based
so you need to be careful of spills getting into any seams. To care for this flooring all you need to do is sweep
and mop it occasionally.
The main reason why people might decide not to use discontinued vinyl flooring tiles is that these do not last as
long as some of the other flooring types, and do not increase the value of your home. Dirt can accumulate in the
seams between the tiles, and they will gouge and tear easier than other floors. Because of this, they do not
increase the value of your home like materials such as hardwood floors. However, they are a great budget option,
especially in areas that don't receive a lot of traffic.
